Max’s place was awesome! It looked exactly like the pictures - actually even more beautiful and homey in real life. We settled in immediately. Great for big groups and families. Dewa, Mandi and the other lady staff were really friendly and helpful. Felt right at home. BBQ at the villa was organised well and the food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is just a slice of heaven on Bali. Remote, tranquil and absolutely luxury living. The staff went above and beyond for all our requests. The food was cooked with love. I loved getting up early in the morning here just so I can spend some time with the tranquility of the villa all to myself. It truly was beautiful.

This place is AMAZING! From the building, landscape, interior, the staff and everything is amazing. Stayed with my whole family and they all enjoyed it so much. This place is huge and are regularly clean by the 2 awesome lady. Security staff is also in the property which make us feel safe at night. The staff are very accommodating with all our needs during our stay including laundry service at a very affordable price. Even our friends that visited us during our stay were amazed by how beautiful this place is. We definitely coming back for sure !

非常愉快的假期，感谢如此惊艳的房源提供！园林设计很特别，仿佛置身神秘花园。孩子们每天捉迷藏，不知道有多开心！只是有两点，一是不提供牙刷，需要自行准备，再就是客厅没有空调，是敞开式的，聚餐的话还是蛮热的。整体还是非常好的，我们四家人一起在巴厘岛度过了非常美妙的时刻。

Great private zen style villa. Good location in between Seminyak and Canggu, but not walkable only convenience if you have a scooter or you can get a grab. The villa is just like the photos, clean and spacious. The pool and garden area is nice, although the garden walkway into the house is a bit dark at night for entering. It’s a wooden style villa with high ceiling which makes it feel homey and comfortable. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the living room, only fans but it’s not so bad. Interestingly some of the bedrooms have many sliding doors that do not have locks so in terms of privacy and security can be questionable. Overall I would recommend staying here. Max and his team were very welcoming and helpful and accomodate us well.

We had a wonderful stay at Umalas. Max and the staff were really helpful with organising some groceries in advance of our arrival, and making sure the check in process was easy and informative. The gardens at the villa were beautiful and peaceful and the pool was a welcome respite for the heat. The villa is bigger than the photos would suggest and the living space is fantastic for our group. There are heaps of great places to eat nearby, and within walking distance. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

저희는 어른 9명과 아이 3명이서 숙소에 묵었습니다. 방은 편안하고 쉬기 너무 좋았습니다. 하우스 키핑도 완벽했습니다. 10시에 시작한 청소는 오후가 되어서야 끝났습니다. 당연 저희가 생활하는 부분에 방해되지 않으면서도요. 수영장도 얕은 곳부터 깊은 곳까지 존재해서 좋았고 매일 깨끗하게 관리를 해주시는 것 같았습니다. 저희는 크리스티안이 불편한 부분이 없는지 매일 체크해줬고 요청에 대해 즉각적으로 대응해줬습니다. 저녁에 요리해주는 부분도 아주 좋았습니다. 저희는 코리안 스타일의 삼겹살을 원했고 혹시 몰라 사진을 보내드렸는데 사진 그대로 만들어주셨습니다. 김치까지 구매해서 준비해줬습니닼 가격도 무척 합리적이었습니다. 대가족이 오붓하게 지내고 싶다고 한다면 이곳이 안성맞춤입니다. 저희가 발리에 온다면 여기에 무조건 다시 묵을거에요. 좋은 추억 만들어줘서 감사합니다.

We came with 4 adult children and their partners. Great villa where everyone felt they had their own space but we could all hang out together as well. Stunning tranquil garden setting and large living areas made it a great place to escape the busy Bali energy. It’s a good 30 minute taxi ride to the beach and that suited us as we could pick the beach with the best surf each day. Would highly recommend location as it is close to Nook, Sardines and many other great spots to dine out (walking distance) great hosts many thanks from all of us

Geweldige tijd gehad in villa sembunyi!! Veel leuke en goede restaurants in de buurt. De villa is een oase van rust, in een levendige omgeving. Wij waren met 12 personen. Enorme grote slaapkamers met douche en toilet. Privacy voor een ieder gewaarborgd. Vriendelijke en toegankelijke staff en de zeer vriendelijke en goede verzorging van de 2 housekeepers. Schone handdoeken indien gewenst voorradig maar er is geen verspilling! Heel fijn zwembad en ligbedden rondom het zwembad. Hele grote huiskamer die we niet hebben gebruikt omdat we iedere avond in een prachtig verlichte tuin aan de lange tafel hebben zitten kletsen eten en drinken. Uitermate “zenvolle” plek. Ontbijt was wat éénzijdig maar we hebben vaak ontbijt besteld via Gojek. Heel gemakkelijk! Onze kinderen+aanhang, vrienden en familie hebben hier een top tijd gehad. Voor herhaling vatbaar en uitermate tevreden!

Had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house is wonderful. Tastefully decorated and full of amenities and useful tools to make the stay wonderful. We utilized the in-house dinner service, massage and laundry services. The service was perfect the prices were also just right. Max as the host and the service staff assigned to help with queries are polite, responsive and knowledgeable. The nearby area has really nice restaurants. The villa itself is located in a quiet street and there is no sound for the nearby surroundings. Upon checkin, the service staff showed us around and explained the layout. We noticed a small problem with one of the bathrooms but that was quickly addressed and resolved. Overall, Thank you very much for making our stay delightful.

Our family had a nice stay. The staff are very lovely. The villa is getting a little tired (kitchen in particular - hopefully a new fridge in near future) but nice gardens & good size pool (perfect temperature). Great that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Villa is very open with air-con in bedrooms only. We brought our own Citronella candles, which helped with mosquitoes in the evenings. Access to villa a little challenging with narrow lane. Overall we enjoyed our stay, good for a larger size group or family (although probably not suited to young kids). Thanks for having us. Pros: Spacious, serene villa, looks just like pictures Great for large groups, so many spots around inside & outside, will never feel crowded Responsive & helpful host Kind & helpful on site staff Things to note : Wasn’t cleaned so well on arrival, surfaces quite dusty, kitchen appliances not cleaned well, kettle full of ants, towels given were cleaned but very stained. Though once i mentioned cleaning to staff, clean next day was much better! Location not ideal if want to get to canngu in evening, lots of traffic, takes 45min -1 hour Very outdoor/indoor concept with rooms very spread out, something to think about if travelling with young children

This villa is beautiful and spacious, set in a gorgeous garden. Our family loved the lay out and how much space there was for everyone - 2 parents and 4 teenagers - whilst still having beautiful areas to hang out together, especially outside. The location is a great walking distance to heaps of wonderful cafes and restaurants and a short grab ride away from beaches and shopping. Everyone was lovely and helpful to communicate with. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Villa Sembunyi. It is incredibly spacious and luxurious, with a beautiful Balinese charm. Beds were incredible too. Max is a very responsive host and made us feel right at home.

Villa was huge and accommodated my family of 10 perfectly, rooms itself had aircon plus fans and was clean and comfortable. Maids came around everyday to clean up so it was spotless. Cars can go straight to the villa but as we are a big group we took a minibus which can’t fit in the small lane, so if you take a big vehicle it is about 100m-150m walk in, something to note if you have elderly. Living room itself could do with a fan, we wanted to eat together outside but it was quite humid even at night. Overall all questions answered promptly and the maid even kindly helped me iron a dress. We also had fun with the snooker table. Also very near there’s a great cafe called Nook. Would recommend this beautiful villa to big groups in Bali always!

Unbelievably gorgeous. Visited with my elderly parents and teenage children and this villa had enough space for everyone. Much more stunning & well laid out than you get a sense of from the pictures. First time I've ever said that the photos don't do the place justice. Host was so helpful & responsive. Checked in on us making sure we were happy & helped organise everything from catering & groceries to laundry delivered. Location is fantastic. Not overly touristy but has one of the best cafe/restaurants in Bali just nearby. You won't regret a stay in this Villa. Highly recommend!

We had fantastic 3 night stay at Villa Sembunyi. This villa is stunning and spacious yet catered large group like us, 11 people. I have stayed in various pool villas in Bali and this one is the best I would rate. Location was perfect. Not too busy yet close to all amenities. 2 mins walk to the famous cafe Nook. Garden is very impressive and well maintained. Pool is big enough for large group but very deep(over 2m). We throughly enjoyed our stay and all agreed that 3 nights were too short and would have been great if we could stay longer at Villa Sembunyi. Staffs were all lovely and communication was great. I’d highly recommend this Villa and would definitely come back.

Die Unterkunft ist viel schöner als auf den Bildern. Max und das ganze Team sind überaus hilfsbereit und erleichtern den Alltag zu 100%. Man kann viele verschiedene Services beim Team dazubuchen (Massage, Fahrer etc) und die Reinigungskräfte, die täglich in die Villa kommen, sind total nett und zurückhaltend. Unter anderem einer der schönsten und tollsten Aufenthalte, die ich je hatte :) Wir waren 10 Personen und haben uns alle ab der ersten Sekunde wohl gefühlt

Max's place was great. It's an olden styled wooden house. Everything looked like the photos. The crew on the ground was great. There's a river right behind it and you can hear water flowing the whole time in the dining table area. Bring mosquito repellant (some rooms had some provided) as the whole house is open living concept. Even the rooms. The only issue we had was with the power and air con. The power keeps going off in the middle or the night or one night we came back to the villa at about midnight and everything was pitch black. This happened about 3-4 times on our 4 night stay. And then the air con are old. With the power limitations, it'll take a few hours to get the room cold, but then the staff turns it all off again when you're not around. I do understand that it's more eco that way, but without a fan or anything else in the rooms, be prepare to be hot and sweaty until the old air con gets cool. Other than that, the location is superb and would definitely stay here again!

A nice and secluded villa that allowed you your own privacy, nice pool, private chef and masseuse meaning you don't have to go anywhere. Not far away from necessities such as breakfast locations (Nooks), money changers and for those wanting a good time, Seminyak. Highly recommend for those who would like to keep their options open in terms of whether they just want to relax or experience Bali.

The villa is nicely decorated at Balinese style which we love. Small alley and not super easy to find but it is located in a peaceful area and lots of restaurants nearby. The staffs are friendly. We used their cooking service at the villa and were happy. Would love to recommend Max to think of chemical spay to eliminate mosquito in the whole villa.

Our stay at Max's villa was incredible. Made and the staff were very kind and responsive, always helping us with anything we needed. They clean the villa each day which is great value for the price of the villa! They provided a beautiful breakfast for everyone for a very reasonable price! The home itself is absolutely stunning, the gardens are amazing - maintained by the gardeners daily. The home had the perfect amount of space for our group of 10, and we couldn't recommend staying at this villa higher!

My family and I stayed at Max’s beautiful villa for our last week in Bali, and I wish we had of stayed for our entire trip! The villa is absolutely stunning and better than the photos. Staff were amazing and so helpful with anything we needed. Location was perfect, nice and quiet yet close to everything we needed. Would highly recommended staying at this villa, 10/10! Next time we will be booking with Max again :)

Before the trip: Had quite a few changes here and there, just because we're traveling in a big group. Max was amazing and so accommodating in helping with the changes, etc. Staying in the villa: The place was so huge! It was an amazing space that our friends really enjoyed. We loved spending time sitting/lying around the couch etc. The rooms were amazing too, just that some toilets were quite revealing which was quite funny (e.g. 1 of the toilets was out in the open, and the open area was connected to the other room). But everything else was great. Staff were very kind and helpful. It rained pretty heavily while we were there and the villa was very well equipped with umbrellas. Only thing was probably that the villa was very far in the alleyway which made it difficult for the cars to come/go, which is just a very normal thing in Bali. All in all, totally enjoyed our time there! :)

We had an amazing time at the villa, so much that my niece cried when we left because she loved her house in Bali so much. Our group consisted of older and middle aged adults, teenagers and young adults, and little children, and everyone had a great time. Great location, very gracious staff, plenty of places to walk to (don't miss the churros place nearby!), and so easy to order food to. It was also very peaceful, despite the good location it was still hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Currently Google map lists the alleyway as Gang Buntut, but it's actually Gang Buntu. We usually put a note about that to the delivery service to help them find the correct place. Stay here if you are able to! We hope to come back.

Amazing stay at this Villa. All rooms are spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. We love the living room, Yoga space, big swimming pool and fully stocked kitchen amenities. Kids friendly. My 5yo niece and 1.5yo nephew love this villa and baby cot is provided for the toddler. Awesome location within 10mins walk to Nook, Expat Coffee, Monsieur Spoon, Pison, Warung Italia and Cabana Carribean Bistro. Love love love and defo will come back if we travel with big group again. Max also helped with ADV and Scoopy booking. All communication was seamless and all very smooth! Thank you Max and the villa team!

i actually didn’t get a chance to stay at this place because the previous renters extended their stay, and the villa owner allowed them, which was a bummer. based on reviews, i believe this place would be a perfect place to stay in Bali, i mean, they wouldn’t have extended their stay if it isn’t, right? however, i still gave 5 stars to everything because of Maxime’s quick response during the chaos of finding the new replacement. Maxime was very considerate and really wanted to offer the best place for my group, which we decided to stay at Villa Mata Hari, Munggu. everything was almost perfect, even though Maxime was quite worried about the ongoing constructions in the area 🚧. it turned out the main problem wasn’t the noise — we didn’t hear anything, our neighbors were cows 🐄 and dogs 🐕 . we got a daily visit from crabs 🦀, not some complaining neighbor — which was awesome! from that, you get the idea that villa’s location was very secluded, so it was a bit tough to get any online transportation or fulfill midnight cravings. you’d better rent a bike/ small car, for sure, and have Indomie in stock.

As a family of 9 adults, we rented Villa Sembunyi for Christmas and my mother's 80th birthday. Maxime was incredibly helpful in the planning phase. The villa had lots of space for all of us to spend time together, but also quiet corners to let you get away! The pool and the pool table were well used. We were able to cook a fantastic Christmas lunch in the well-equipped kitchen. The house staff were lovely too - when I arrived, there was some confusion about having two single beds in one of the bedrooms but they quickly sorted out an extra mattress to put on the floor for my niece. Thank you to everyone at Villa Sembunyi for helping make our holiday even more special.

Villa nya keren, kamarnya luas, ada kolam teratai di taman, kolam renang nya ukuran nya sangat ok, ruang tamu nya bagus, ada meja billiard juga. Problem utama kucing liar, jadi mesti simpan makanan di dalam lemari atau kulkas, karena kucing bisa masuk dapur dengan mudah dan kapan saja bisa masuk. Dan satu hal lagi kamar mandi di lantai 2 tidak ada sirkulasi udara, jadi sedikit mengganggu waktu bab.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay at the villa. Beautiful and thoughtful touches everywhere, from the swimming pool with an overarching buddha, to an overall feeling of zen. Doors are everywhere which sometimes interrupt the flow of things but this also helps maintaining a fresh place. We had a great stay!

It was truly amazing experience for my team. We was 10 of us & truly appreciated. The staff and manager was really helpful from check in until We check out. Allow us for early check in and late check out due to availability. The only thing I feel that the host can improvise is there were alot of mosquitoes upon our stay ,I think great to have fogging on time to time basis especially when there is lake there.

We had a great time at Villa Sembunyi. I don't know where to start with. There was 10 of us in total yet the spacious place makes the 10 of us feel so relaxing. The rooms are big, decorated with thoughtful ideas, tidy, clean and just pure comfortable. All of us had a great time together just by spending time in this villa doing nothing. We only have great words to describe our Villa. Definitely a marvellous place to enjoy a good catch up with friends.

This villa is simply exceptional. We chose the villa based on the great pictures on AirBnB and we were not disappointed when we arrived. The grounds are meticulously kept, great pool and the villa is extremely spacious, stylish and a real home-from-home. The villa staff are also wonderful and very attentive. All 5 bedrooms were superb and we would highly recommend this property if you are travelling with a large group. We will definitely be returning. Trust us you will not be disappointed n you’ll have an awesome time!!!!

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at Villa Sembunyi. The villa has stylish decor, is ideally located (30 seconds walk to Nook Cafe and a short taxi ride to the great restaurants/bars/beach clubs in Seminyak and Canggu), and has fantastic staff that took great care of the property and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. I highly recommend this place, and if you choose to stay here you should definitely organize with the staff to cook you a meal one night. They cooked us up an amazing Indonesian feast that we are still talking about!

Our group of 6 adults and 7 kids recently had the pleasure of staying in Villa Sembunyi, it was absolutely amazing to say the least. So much better than we expected. The rooms are huge and the whole villa is so stylishly decorated with beautiful homewares. The pool was huge and the kids loved it. So many nooks and hidden places to explore in the Villa, the kids had a ball. Lovely hearing the river behind the villa flowing all night aswell. The villa itself is very close to some lovely eating spots...Nook, Blue Monkey, Nostimo Greek on Batu Belig and also shopping and massages on Batu Belig aswell. Loved our stay and hope to be back one day!

The villa was even more beautiful than in the pictures and the pool had sunshine all day long! For the breakfast the staff always got us exactly what we wanted. The villa was very clean and there was a drinking water dispenser! The staff arranged us a very affordable day trip with a minivan and the airport transfers worked out smoothly as well. We loved the privacy of the villa’s location.

Villa Sembunyi is absolutely stunning. The description you read is true to the word. The swimming pool will take your breath away. If you are considering staying, you will not be disappointed you will be blown away. 12 of my Family and Friends have just returned from a week at the Villa and it was amazing. The villa itself is as described. Good location in Seminyak, good amenities. Be careful though of the fact that there are many stairs if you have small children, not the most practical. Unfortunately the local staff working for the villa have a “minimal” understanding of their task, focusing on housework and not on costumers’ needs, which left us with a bad vibe. Pity.

La villa Sembunyi est géniale et nous avons été enchantés par la beauté des lieux, l'acceuil chaleureux, très attentionné et la joie de rendre service. Les petits déjeuners à la villa étaient extraordinaires, préparés avec soin, enthousiasme, et dans la joie de coopérer avec les demandes du moment. Les dîners avec les autres cuisiniers ont été bien servis et egalement délicieux. Nous étions un groupe de 12 personnes et venions pour de la méditation. Tout le personnel a su respecter les moments de silence en faisant le moins de bruit possible ! L'espace du salon était parfait pour ce que nous avions à vivre, avec sa décoration japonaise, son toit très haut et beaucoup d'ouvertures pour une ventilation naturelle ainsi que le son du ruisseau a l'arrière de la maison qui etait très plaisant. Tout ceci contribuait à augmenter le bien être et la joie de notre séjour à Sembunyi. Les chambres étaient très grandes et pouvaient même pour certaines accueillir quatre personnes sans problème. La piscine était vraiment un plus pour pouvoir se rafraîchir et nager dans ces eaux claires vert emeraude. Nous avions prévu des massages tous les jours pour tout le monde et notre groupe a été vraiment content des massages qu'ils ont reçus !! Merci à tous et au lieu qui a contribué à rendre notre séjour Magique !

Maxime is a great and effective guest. He helped us to organise some rafting or some very late pickup at the airport. The villa is perfect and well-located. The staff is nice and attentive. Just, if you need a late check out or just to let your luggages yous should ask the staff as soon as possible because it is quite difficult . (Staff is not staying at the villa on Sundays). We are used to come to Bali for a week-end and this villa is really one of the best we ever had. So I highly recommande the villa or Max who is perfect to help you to organise your stay.

We stayed with a group of 9 for 8 days in this property. All of us really enjoyed the sprawling landscaping/ garden area and the big sized rooms. The property was clean and the staff was great to help. Just one thing which can be made better in this property is the air conditioning. As the rooms are big in size it demands some high power ACs. Especially in the living area which doesn’t have any ACs. It was a bit tough for us in the afternoons as we were unable to bear the heat ( while the staff arranged mounted fans, which provided a bit relief). All in all, a great property for large groups and greater if you visit in Non humid / non summer seasons.

Very nice and stylish villa, really out of the ordinary and probably the best we experienced in Bali. The kids and the adults had a great time and I would definitely recommend it for multi family groups. the amenities (pool, fish pond, garden, etc.) are great, the staff is friendly and the host is responsive. and all this is ideally located. We'll come back!

Our stay at the villa was fantastic. Superb location but with easy access to Seminyak. The villa is beautiful and everything said in the property was accurate. There was maid and garden services for 6 hours a day apart from Sunday. You can have food cooked for you as well or can have food delivered if you don’t feel like venturing out. There is lots to do locally or if travel a bit further can explore and have other great experiences. Seminyak has a number of cool beach clubs as well. However, for us the most outstanding thing about the villa was the staff. They were extremely friendly and kind doing was too much trouble for them and they helped us book trips and drivers etc. All in all a fabulous villa and staff - we couldn’t fault a thing. Thank you.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa sembunyi for 6 days. Maxime was extremely helpful and easily accessible for any information we required and we had a smooth check-in. The villa is gorgeous and even better than the photos suggest. The entire staff was warm helped us organize food/ travel and spa activities and took care of all the tiny details making our stay extremely memorable and it felt just like home. We are truly delighted to have been here and we thank you for a pleasurable experience at Villa sembunyi.

This villa is just as good or better than it looks in the photos. Very spacious, each of us were able to easily have our own privacy from each other. We were 6 friends staying in the villa though so we were always going to have plenty of space between us. The in house breakfast was great as well as the service provided by the Bali Villa Management staff. Great location, Nook across the road is a lovely cafe/restaurant otherwise a 5-10 minute walk into Seminyak for plenty of great dining, shopping and massage options. Only downside was the wifi dropping out a fair bit at one stage but hopefully they fix that one up before the next time we come stay!

Maxime is a thoughtful host who communicates promptly and deals with issues quickly. The villa is an amazing open beam house set in a walled garden with a lily pond and oversized pool. Though within walking distance of downtown Seminyak it feels very private. There are nooks to explore outside and inside, surprises around every corner. All the rooms are decorated very tastefully with interesting artistic touches and artifacts. The cook is a treasure and we hired her to cook Indonesian dishes for us almost every night of our stay. The curries were five star quality. Unfortunately it rained a great deal the week we rented Villa Sembunyi and we were plagued with mosquitoes and other creatures. The kitchen is somewhat limited with its older stove and fridge, but that being said if you want to experience living in a real Balinese villa this is the one for you.

We loved the architecture and landscaping of the property. True to the pictures - cozy combination of Balinese and Japanese decor. Wished that we had more time to relax and enjoy the villa. To add to it's convenience, there is a nice cafe (overlooking padi fields) - Nook, that serves really yummy dishes.

Villa sembunyi is just the Haven and the vacation place for a family and a group of friends any age, the interior is beautiful and the river on the other side of the house is music to your ears every morning, the staff is amazing and the location is 10 minutes walk to seminar center and all the clubbing areas the house us much more beautiful in real. I thank every one for making my 2 weeks vacation a great one.

The entire experience was nothing short of amazing! Positive from the start of our booking all the way to checkout. Maxime was very accommodating to all our requests prior to our arrival and we were looked after really well by the staff on site. They helped us arrange for BBQ, in villa massages (reasonably priced), recommended and delivered local food, and accommodated a very last minute request for car hire on the last day. The staff even helped us bargain with the driver! Maxime was also kind enough to provide late check out since there was no guests arriving on the last day. All in all, excellent service! The villa itself was beautiful and clean. The rooms were better looking than in pictures. The outdoor common areas were shaded so were perfect for hanging out at all times. The lighting can be a little dim at night but adds to the ambience. Overall highly recommended.

Villa was good and is comfortable. Reasonably pricing for the accommodation. The villa staff was helpful and friendly. However, the cook hired on the first day is an external contractor which massively overcharged us for groceries. I believe this problem should be rectified as the host has been informed and acknowledged the matter. Villa management staff also took quite a bit of time to respond to the complains about the cook, they only came to the villa to resolve the matter on the last day. Otherwise, the villa was nice with a great atmosphere.

Our stay at the villa Sembunyi was amazing; it's very close Seminyak and has many restaurants and shops walking distance. Maxime was very helpful by answering all of our questions, and we were amazed by the Concierge services at the villa: they picked us up at the airport, organize a rafting tour and even helped us get our tickets to Gili islands! We came many times before in Bali but our stay at this villa was by far the best we've ever had! Thank you all so much again for all the attention, we'll come back!
